How to create a DIY makeup advent calendar

With Christmas just around the corner, you will almost certainly be thinking about everything that you need to buy – and with this being the case, advent calendars may be on your mind. Be inventive with a beauty lover this year and make it special – their very own beauty advent calendar, which along with an acrylic beauty box that they can put together day by day!

Think about how it will be presented

Because everything will be a different size, you may find that box templates won’t work. You may have the best chance of success from using a wall hanging calendar that are available for children, for parents to fill with treats. You are able to buy these from many stores, and it means that you can re-use them again in future years if you wish to. Or, you could wrap each gift individually and label them with the date on which they should be opened. This is something that could certainly be quite effective when received.

Consider the mix of products

There are a huge number of makeup products that you could include in an advent calendar, and with this being the case it is important to make sure that you have just the right mix. For example, you don’t want to include huge amounts of blusher if you know that the recipient can make it last for years. In addition to makeup, you could include things like removal wipes, brushes and moisturisers, as this will add a little bit of interest – and will also be greatly received thanks to the fact that the items are incredibly useful, too.

Plan each day carefully

It is important that you have a plan when it comes to when each gift will be given. For example, if you have chosen to give a new product, and will also be giving a brush to go with it, it will need to be planned so that the product is given the day before the new brush – so that there is no clue about which product may be coming next. Also, if you have a few products that are similar, these should be spaced out as much as possible, and if there are “filler” treats, such as wipes or makeup removers, these should be placed between the treats that you think are going to cause the most excitement.

When you’re making your own beauty advent calendar, you should find that there is plenty of chance for you to have a lot of fun along the way. If you are able to do it just right, you will find that your loved one is absolutely thrilled at the products that you have chosen for them, and this means that they will really be able to enjoy the run up to Christmas – and you will know that you were responsible for that enjoyment.
